JHC Volunteer Agreement
The goal of the volunteer process at Johnston Heights Church is to have the right people serving in the right places for the right reasons. We believe that every believer needs to have the opportunity to serve in a biblically functioning community that honours Jesus Christ.
The purpose of this agreement is to enable us to pursue living in a biblical community as fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and to empower us to fulfill the mission of JHC: “Together, becoming influential followers of Jesus Christ.”
We believe these biblical standards will show themselves in a distinctly Christian way of life—an approach to living that we expect of ourselves and of one another. This lifestyle involves practicing those attitudes and actions the Bible portrays as virtues, while avoiding those that the Bible portrays as sinful.
As a volunteer at JHC, if I am at any point unable to stay committed to the JHC Volunteer Agreement, I will inform my direct ministry supervisor. Upon doing this, I am aware that my choice to break the JHC Volunteer Agreement may result in a hiatus from the area(s) I am serving in, or the discontinuation of my volunteering at JHC.
